Delete your MedMatrix account

You can delete your MedMatrix account and its data yourself, in the MedMatrix app for iPhone and Android or on the website. It works with or without an active membership, and whether you sign in with an email and password, Google, Facebook or Apple.

Delete your account

Sign in to the MedMatrix app, or to themedmatrix.com.
Open your account: in the app, tap More, then Account. On the website, go to themedmatrix.com/app/account.
Under Delete account, choose Delete account…, type DELETE and tap Permanently delete account.

Can't sign in, or want only some of your data deleted? Email admin@themedmatrix.com from the email address on your account with the subject “MedMatrix data deletion request” and tell us what you'd like deleted. If you used Facebook Login, mention it. We may ask you to confirm the account is yours. Never send your password or sign-in codes.

What happens

Right away

Any membership or free trial billed by MedMatrix is cancelled, so you won't be charged again. Payments already made aren't refunded.
You're signed out on every device and can no longer sign in. Marketing emails and study reminders stop.
A membership bought through Apple in the MedMatrix iPhone app is billed by Apple, not by us, and deleting your account doesn't cancel it. Cancel it on your iPhone in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

Within 30 days, we permanently delete

Your account: name, username, email address, password and connected Google, Facebook or Apple sign-in.
Your exam, exam date, school and study settings.
Your study data: practice tests and answers, statistics, flashcards and reviews, notes, study sheets, lectures, podcasts and other files you uploaded or created.
Your AI tutor and chat conversations, study group memberships and the messages you posted, achievements, points and referral details.
Your support requests and our email and notification profile for you.

What we keep

Records of payments, invoices and refunds that tax and accounting laws require us to keep. They're held by our payment processor, Stripe, the company that processed your payments and in our accounting records for as long as those laws require (generally up to seven years), and aren't used for anything else.
A record that you asked for deletion and when it was completed.
Copies in encrypted system backups, which are deleted as those backups expire on their regular schedule.

Deletion can't be undone. Once it's complete you can create a new account with the same email address. Disconnecting Google, Facebook or Apple as a sign-in method doesn't delete your MedMatrix account or its data; to remove MedMatrix from those accounts, also remove it in your Google, Facebook or Apple account settings.
